Birth: Jun. 6, 1729
Death: Aug. 25, 1810

Son of Daniel Hopkins b@1715 NY & Amy Weeks.
Grandson of Ichabod Hopkins b@1675 RI & Sarah Coles.
He had one brother, Thomas Hopkins, and eight sisters:
Dinah
Hannah
Sarah
Temperance
Mary
Ann
Martha
Amy

William Hopkins 1729-1810 was the husband of Rachel Coles and, I suspect, the father of William M. Hopkins 1760-1841 since William M. Hopkins & Elizabeth (Downing) Hopkins named their son and first child Coles Hopkins. However, I have yet to prove.

Rachel Coles Hopkins was the daughter of Temperance & Joseph Coles, Sr. of Mosketo Cove, Oyster Bay, Queens Co. (now Nassau Co.), Nassau Island (now Long Island), NY. She is mentioned as deceased in her father's will of Aug. 5, 1768.
She was sister to Benjamin, Albert, Derrick, William, Joseph, Ann and Jemima.

Note: This gravestone was recorded by William Robertson Coe, II of "Meadow Springs", Glen Cove, NY and published in a June/July 1949 article of "The Long Island Forum".
