Lillian Theresa Cartwright, 83, Deer River, died Monday, April 13, 1998, in Deer River.
She was born May 24, 1914, in Fountain City, Wis., and moved to Deer River when she was very young where she was a longtime resident.
She married Floyd Cartwright on Jan. 12, 1932. She was a cook for many years at the old Deer River hospital and also at the new one when it first opened.
She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Deer River. She is survived by two sons, Robert Cartwright and Roland Cartwright, both of Deer River; a daughter, Florence Gibbs, Deer River; a brother, Willard Grossell, Deer River; a sister, Marian Figgins, Grand Rapids; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Floyd, in 1979, a son, Larry, in 1948, her parents, Carl and Mary Grossell, a sister, Molly Box, and four brothers, Joe, Johnny, Carl and Roman.
Funeral: Thursday, April 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Deer River, with the Rev. Anselm Thevarkunnel officiating.
Burial: Olivet Cemetery, Morse Township. Arrangements by Carroll Funeral Home, Deer River.
