He was the son of Benjamin Sr., husband to Ezediah (Palmer), father to William and 10 other children. Benjamin joined the Tonoloway church in the early 1800's. He served as a messenger to the Association in 1834. Served in the war of 1812. On his stone reads,
BLESSED ARE THE DEAD WHICH DIE IN THE LORD.
