obit in the "Long Islander"
"Irving Chichester died at St. Mary's Hospital, Brooklyn, Tuesday, after being in that institution several weeks, after having undergone an operation on his leg. Mr. Chichester was born at West Hills, 44 years ago, the son of Abner Chichester & Sarah Towne. His birthplace was the famous Peace & Plenty Inn. His early education was obtained at the West Hills school, but later he attended the Huntington High School. Fourteen years ago he was married to Jeanette L. Smith, of Farmingdale, and two children were born to them, the little girl dying several years ago, the boy surviving. Mr. Chichester was very fond of horses, and for many years conducted the North Side Livery Stables, at Huntington Station. Being of a cheerful disposition, the deceased leaves a large circle of friends, and beside a widow, and son, Donald Irving, he is survived by his mother and sister, Mrs. Josephine Jarvis. Funeral services were held at 2:30 this (Friday) afternoon, at his late home at Huntington Station, and interment took place at West Hills. The Rev. Samuel H. Seem officiated".
