James J. Finn

Oakwood Road resident James "Jimmy" Joseph Finn, 65, died of lung cancer March 14 at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore.

Mr. Finn was an over-the-road truck driver and a well-known bluegrass musician in the Baltimore area. He played guitar with numerous bands, including the Foggy Hollow Boys and Carter Country, and will be remembered for a singing voice that many compared to bluegrass legend Mac Weisman.

Extremely proud of his Irish heritage, he had a quick wit, an unmistakable laugh and an uncanny ability to tell jokes.

He is survived by his wife, sons, and daughters. Other survivors are his mother and her husband, sisters, 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, James Reed Finn.

Services were held March 18 at Connelly Funeral Home. Interment followed at Holy Rosary Cemetery.
