Boy Bitten By Dog, Dies Hours After
Frederick Keeser, Aged 2, Johnson Creek, Is Victim
JOHNSON CREEK - A two year old Johnson Creek boy died at 9 p.m. Tuesday at Watertown Memorial Hospital of injuries suffered when he was attacked by a dog earlier in the day. He was Frederick Robert Keeser, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Keeser, West Street.
Coroner Ewald Reichert of Jefferson County said the boy suffered numerous puncture wounds to the abdominal area when he was attacked by the dog at about 11:15 a.m. yesterday. He and his mother were visiting at the Wayne Keeser home on country trunk Y. He had been outside only five minutes when his mother looked out and saw the dog attacking her son. Mrs. Keeser used a stick to beat off the dog, a German shorthair, owned by James Wolf of Johnson Creek. The dog was chained.
The animal is being held at the Johnson Creek Humane Society.
Frederick was born March 23, 1964 in Watertown.
The family had lived in Johnson Creek the past 14 months and before that resided in Watertown.
In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters, Linda, 6, Kathy 3, and a brother, Charles, 5; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Keeser, route 1, Johnson Creek; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Raether, Watertown, maternal grandfather, Laurence Zielsdorf, Watertown; Maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Parpart, Watertown; maternald great-grandmother, Mrs. Julius Zielsdorf, Watertown, and paternal great-grandfather, Albert Schuenke, Johnson Creek.
The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at ST. John's Lutheran Church, Johnson Creek. The Rev. L. J. Larson will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may pay their respects at the Pederson Funeral Home in Watertown from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday. The casket will be closed at the church.
