|Birth: ||Feb. 26, 1920|
|Death: ||May 18, 2012|
Son of Alvin James Frisk and Ruth Hope DeCamp Frisk. Being their first born out of 4 sons, one dying at birth or shortly after and 2 being a set of twins. His father Alvin had been a widower when he and Ruth married, so he had a half brother and 3 half sisters.
On July 6, 1940 he was united in marriage with Dorotha Viola Roddy. To this union a son was born.
It is unknown if he joined or was drafted into the U.S. Navy, but he fought in WWII on the U.S.S. Cabot (CVL28). He pops up in the muster rolls, but not for enlisting.
He and Dortha later divorce once home from war, in 1945. She married soon after and his son was adopted by her new husband without Clifford's permission (things were different back then), and no one in her family would give him information as to where they were. He finally got info and found his son after he was a married adult and they became close again.
About 1948 he was united in marriage with Margaret Lucille Kelly. To this union two daughters and son were born. First child, a girl lived less than 24 hrs in Oct 1949. This marriage later ended, either by seperation or divorce and he raised the two living children.
Uncle Clifford was a very quiet man. Hard to get to know, but very sweet and gentle man. I only saw him about a dozen times in my life. After retirement and moving to Oregon, he bought a motor home and did some traveling, one would never know when he would show up, often never thought to let people know he was going to stop by or was coming for a visit. He was always good at sending out Christmas cards to family.
Three years ago he sold his place in Oregon and moved in with his brother Clarence and his wife Emma Jean in Yakima, Washington. Up until last year he was able to drive to another part of Washington to visit his other brother Clyde. His health began to decline over the past year. When brother & wife where helping him get ready for a doctor appointment, they discovered he could not stand or walk, so they got him to the hospital.
Uncle Clifford had been hospitalized for 2 days when he passed from a bad heart with blockage and old age.
He was survived by his son Raymond and daughter Teresa, 3 grand children Timothy, Kathleen and Chris and 6 great-grandchildren, brothers Clarence and Clyde and their wives. Plus many neices and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Alvin James Frisk and mother Ruth Hope DeCamp Frisk Ryan, his half siblings; Ray Edward Frisk; Hazel Nellie Frisk Woodson; Vera Ellen Frisk Dodd; Grace Margaret Frisk Jones; infant daughter Diana Clara Frisk and son Clifford O. Frisk, Jr., known by family as "Bo".
His ashes in an urn were put in the ground at his son Bo's grave. Per funeral home records he was place on June 21, 2012.
My Uncle, one of dad's half brothers.
