Anna Mosella Ream Sage
Birth: Aug. 31, 1858
Sugar Grove
Fairfield County
Ohio, USA
Death: Mar. 10, 1932
Dickinson County
Kansas, USA

My Great Great Step Grandma.

Daughter of Reuben R. Rieman & Mary Ann Stiner. Grandma Anna married under the name of Ream, so evidently she or the family changed the spelling.

"Anna Mosella Ream's first husband was recorded as Thomas E. Pharis (son of John Pharis and Sarah Ann Moorman). Thomas and Anna were married on 04 Apr 1876 in Van Wert County, Ohio. The image of their marriage certificate is available online at" Thanks to Mary Toluchanian for correcting my information.

Using Certificate No 275234, Declaration for widow's pension for Ira C. Sage, (Apr 28, 1923 by Anna Mosella Sage), "...Anna Mosella, first husband divorced Oct 3, 1879, Hays City, KS.

"...married under the name of Anna Mosella Ream to said soldier at Hays City, KS, on the 3rd day of Oct, 1879, by J. M. Tracey."

Known children:
John Reuben Pharis
Orrin Judd Sage
William Vanderbilt Sage
Jay Gould Sage

1900 Dickinson Co., KS census:
Married 22 years, 5 children, 4 living. Note: Six American Colonists list a son by the name of Budd -- whom we have never heard of. Maybe he is one of the "5" who is deceased.

1910 Dickinson Co., KS census:
Married 31 years, 6 children, 3 living.

Grandma lived 73 years 6 months 10 days.

A mother's (and Grandmotherís) love is forever. It begins before we can even remember...and it creates a feeling of comfort, warmth, and happiness that can never be forgotten. Thank you, to all Moms, for showing us the true meaning of love.
