Mr. Adair was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Emmett, Idaho, to Wilbur Oscar and Alice Irene Adair. He enlisted in the U.S. armed forces in 1943 and retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1970. He moved to Alaska during World War II. Mr. Adair was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, hunting and fishing. His family wrote: "Beloved brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was gentle, kind and very family oriented. He will be dearly missed by family and friends." Mr. Adair is survived by his son, Dan Maxwell of Anchorage; daughters-in-law, Sherry and Cori Maxwell of Anchorage; grandchildren, Dak Maxwell of Seattle, Tal Maxwell, Ria Roebuck and Bre Barth of Anchorage; great-grandchildren, Skye, Keanna, Aurora, Carly, Timothy, Ashley and Cody; and three brothers, Eldon Adair of Maui, Hawaii, Gordon Adair of Caldwell, Idaho, and Wilbur Glen Adair of Seattle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel A. Adair; son, Edwin Lewis Maxwell; and brother, Ernest Adair.
