Junior Year In High School: Small Tribute, Another classmate. Our military service years overlapped but we went different roads, me Army, you Navy. I stumbled on your gravesite at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery this year and your name registered. You were there our junior year in high school and disappeared our senior year however, I remember you from then. Nice kid you were as I remember. A number of our classmates didn't make it back and some that did got pretty beat up. Rest easy friend, you did your military job. You were a quiet kid with good potential. I'm sorry. Ed Holt.

Shipmate: It's been 34 years now and I can still remember the sounds and smells of that terrible day in Vietnam aboard the Tom Green County. I was a ships Yeoman and remember typing the letter to your parents. I thought at the time why couldn't the Captain hand write a letter to your parents on his personal stationary and make your death a little more personal, but that was to much to ask. Raymond Sharp was also killed that day on the Tom Green. You were both working in the ships galley preparing meals for the crew. Ray Frerichs, 26668 C70, Hinton, Iowa 51024 DinCharles@aol.com.

We were Shipmates: Those who served with you on the Tom Green County LST 1159 will never forget your sacrifice. You did your duty, and did it well. Your memory lives with your shipmates. Loyd Lovell, 14414 66th Street Northeast, Lake Stevens, WA. 98258 Candidlovell@aol.com.
