Tony Collier, 55, of Hackett passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, in Poteau.

He was employed by Cox Business Service, member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Christian Church in Fort Smith, volunteer firefighter for the Sugarloaf Fire Department and an avid Booster Club member for Hackett Schools. Tony was a gifted salesman who never met a stranger. He touched many lives and will be dearly missed. He loved his family and his motorcycle; this is where he found the beauty of this earth.

Tony lived and died by these words, which he wrote:

"We enter this world as a gift; we cherish the gifts we find.

But when it's time to leave this world, we leave our gifts behind.

So if you possess a gift, quickly, quietly give it away.

You'll soon find joy and happiness surround you every day."

Funeral service was at First Christian Church in Fort Smith with burial at Old Union Cemetery in Hackett under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Susan; his children, Jason Collier of Harrisburg, Cody Collier and wife, Mindy of Van Buren, Mindi Foote and husband, Cameron of Greenwood, and Chase Collier of Hackett; his granddaughter, Raylee Jade; mother, Pat Collier; and mother-in-law, Nita Carroll. He is also survived by six sisters, Caren Collier of Talent, Ore., Paula Smith of New Port Richey, Fla., Kay Henderson of Georgetown, Texas, Fay Kelle of Twin Falls, Idaho, Patricia Smith of Charleston and Mary Beth Collier of Chubbuck, Idaho ; and two brothers, Chris Collier of Plymouth, N.H., and Herbert Collier of Evansville, Ind. He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Collier, and his father-in-law, Phil Carroll.

Pallbearers were Keenan Adkins, Butch Hendricks, Chester Johnson, Steve Black, Chris Farris and Sid Martin. Honorary pallbearers were the Sugarloaf Volunteer Fire Department and Pathfinders of First Christian Church.
