O. S. MITCHELL DIED SUDDENLY AT HIS HOME LAST NIGHT
Odd Samuel Mitchell, age 72, Center township farmer, was found dead at his home two miles northeast of Danville, last night, by his son, Calvin. Mr. Mitchell had been in failing health since last December when he suffered an attack of flu. Coroner Rawleigh Baker pronounced death due to heart trouble.
Last evening when Calvin went to his home after caring for his duties at the Danville post office, he found his father's lifeless body near the kitchen steps. Neighbors said they had seen Mr. Mitchell about 6 o'clock.
The deceased was born on what is now the Roscoe Bunten farm, a hundred yards east of the place where he died. He was the twenty-first child of William and Martha Mitchell. In 1885 he married Miss Louisa Smoot, who preceded him in February, 1927.
Surviving besides the son, who had always made his home with his parents, is a daughter, Mrs. Eva Campbell of Indianapolis.
Funeral services will be held at the home, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of the Rev. O. B. Pickett, a long-time personal friend of the deceased. Burial will be in the East cemetery.
