Birth: Nov. 12, 1813
Lehigh County
Pennsylvania, USA
Death: Sep. 29, 1894
Cussewago Township
Crawford County

Saturday, Sept. 29, at about 8 o'clock p.m., Abraham Frontz entered into his rest, after having spent more than four score years on life's tempestuous sea.
He was born in North Whitehall township, Lehigh county, Nov. 12, 1813. Mr. Frontz came to Crawford county at the age of 17 years, settling in Cussewago township. (He walked from Whitehall, to Mosiertown, Crawford County, carrying just a rifle for protection) In the year 1840 he was married to Leah Reichel, who preceded him to the spirit world nearly 30 years. To this union were horn 13 children, nine of whom are living, and with two exceptions they all reside in this vicinity. Amanda, Mrs. Shollenberger, and Thomas have lived in Ohio quite a number of years, but were with their father during his last sickness with the rest of the family. Although Mr. Frontz had reached so great an age, he was able to do most of his farm work until two or three years ago. He has been in failing health for some months, the immediate cause of his death being paralysis.
For mor than sixty-five years he was an honored and faithful member of the German Reformed church, and always a faithful attendant at services. His pew was scarcely ever empty. The funeral services were held in the church, which is located on what was once a part of the farm of the deceased, by the Rev. Dr. apple, of Saegertown, who had been, until recently, for many years, pastor of the church. He took for his text, Job, 5th chapter and 26th verse. The sermon was very impressive. The choir from Coon's Corners sang "One By One", "Farewell Father" and "Fading Away".
Abraham Frantz had always been a highly respected and useful citizen, as was attested by the large attendance at the services, the church being too small to hold the people.
