Husband of Edna (Grant) Ryle, and son of William and Mary (Danforth) Ryle, aged 50 years.

Ernest Ryle lived alternately between homes in New York City, Canada and Paris, France.

OBITUARY, Paterson, New Jersey, 11/7/1921.

Ernest Ryle, the son of the late William and Mary E. Ryle, died of heart disease yesterday at a private hospital in New York City. He was in his fiftieth year and had many friends in this city who will learn of his passing with sincere regret. His father was the founder of the firm of silk manufacturers known as the William Ryle & Company, and his mother was the donor of the handsome Free Public Library to the city of Paterson, in memory of her father, the late Charles Danforth, the locomotive builder.

Ernest Ryle, with his wife, had been living in Paris for the past few years. Mr. Ryle had just completed a vacation at his summer home in Canada, and was on his way back to Europe when the fatal attack came yesterday. Mr. Ryle was born in this city and had been associated with the family in the silk industry.

Mr. Ryle is survived by his widow, who was Miss Edna Grant, of Boston. Mrs. Ryle did not accompany her husband on the trip to America, remaining at their home in Paris. The other survivors are his brother and two sisters, Arthur Ryle, and Miss Julia Ryle and Mrs. Henry Arthur Griffin, all residents of New York City.

The deceased was graduated from Yale in 1892, and was a member of the Racquet and Tennis Club. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, New York City, and the interment will probably be in the Ryle plot in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
