Bernard Hyink, 60, of 1016 S. 16th Ave., died Sunday in Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Montana and as an infant moved to Moxee with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hyink. He was raised and educated in Moxee. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He married Elsie Huibregtse in January 1946.
For more than 35 years Mr. Hyink worked for Roche Fruit Company, retiring three years ago due to ill health. He was a member of First Reformed Church of Moxee and William Wharton Post No. 379, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Hyink of Yakima; a son, Jon Hyink of Yakima; a daughter, Mrs. Gene (Ann) Rostvold of Yakima; his stepmother, Mrs. Jessie Hyink of Moxee; and a brother, Lawrence Hyink of Seattle. One brother, Harold L. Hyink was killed in an air craft accident during World War II, November 30, 1944.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2 in Keith & Keith Terrace Heights Chapel. The Mr. Jake Cloe, interim Pastor of the First Reformed Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. The family suggests, if desired, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
