Mrs. Alice Meyer, 73, died late Monday night at her home, 722 N. 15th Ave., after a long illness. Born in Holland, Mrs. Meyer had lived in Yakima 33 years, coming here from Corsica, S.D. She was a member of the Gospel Chapel.
Survivors include her husband, Jake; a son, Harry L. Verwolf, Yakima; a step-daughter, Mrs. Betty Steel, Seattle; three brothers, Arie Vandenhoek, of Harrison, S.D., John and Lane Vandenhoek, both of Corsica; three sisters, Mrs. Hanna Doorn of Harrison, Mrs. Jennie Beukelman and Mrs. Ida Schrivers, both of Corsica; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Keith & Keith Chapel Thursday at 3 p.m. Rev. O. W. Elder will officiate. Burial will be in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Art Garvelink, Walter Meyer, Ralph George, Don McGillivary, Herbert Hammond and W. E. Guthrie.

Family History: Born Aartje Van den Hoek on November 14, 1879 in Goudriaan, Graafstroom Municipality, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. In 1893, Alice emigrated with her parents and siblings to the USA. Her mother died three days after arrival in the Dutch agrarian settlement of Harrison, Douglas County, southeast South Dakota.
Alice was divorced from her first husband, Peter Verwolf.
