***** Marion Bryan Andler - Born: 21 Jul 1951 in Gallup, New Mexico. Died 10 June 1970 in Cambodia. Mother was Betty Andler of 1104 15th NW - Abuqurque, New Mexico. Marion married Nellie D. Franson (17), daughter of Mary Lee Franson of 1217 12th NW - Albuqurque, New Mexico and Sgt James Frederick Franson. They married on 18 April, 1970, less than two months previous to Marion's death in Cambodia. He started his tour in Vietnam on 9 May 1970. He was a Roman Catholic. He was interned on 22 June 1970 at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM in Section V Site 1685. Less than a year after her husband's death, on May 8th, 1971, Nellie's mother (Mary Lee Lujan Franson) was slain at her home in what looked like a burgulary. James Franson, a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force, died, "about five years ago.

Corporal Marion Bryan Andler was a casualty of the Vietnam War.
As a member of the Army, CPL Andler served our country until June 10th, 1970 in Cambodia.
He was 18 years old and was married.
Marion died from small arms fire/grenade.
His body was recovered.

Two City Men Die in Asia, 1 in Combat
Two Albuquerque men Wednesday were reported killed in Southeast Asia . One man was killed in action and the other died in nonhostile action, the Defense Department said.
Dead are PFC Marion B. Andler, 18, husband of Mrs. Nellie Andler, 1217 12th NW and WO James G. Bulloch, husband of Mrs. Judith J. Bulloch 1013 10th Loop, Sandia Base.
PFC Andler was killed in action June 10, the Army said. Officials said he was a passenger in a military vehicle, in a combat operation "when a hostile force was encountered" in Cambodia. He previously had been reported as missing.in action.
Andler's 17 year old wife of two months said he had completed his junior year at Albuquerque High School last spring and that he joined the Army last November.
Andler and his wife, the former Nellie Franson, also a former Albuquerque High student, were married April 18, 1970 while he was home on a 21 day leave, prior to his Southeast Asia assignment.
He was assigned to the Fourth Armored Cavalry, and had been in Vietnam two weeks, then in Cambodia two weeks prior to his death.
Mrs. Andler said her husband had been a construction worker before joining the Army. Andler had participated in ROTC at AHS and had played football at the school she said.
He was born in Gallup and came to Albuquerque in 1963. He was a member of San Felipe Catholic Church.

In a double-ring ceremony at San Felipe Church, Miss Nellie D. Franson became the bride of Marion B. Andler with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. James McNiff officiating
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Mary L. Franson, 1217 12th NW, and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs, Betty Andler, 1104 11th NW.
For her wedding, the bride chose a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace, styled with a cathedral train. Her veil of illusion edged with lace was attached to a headpiece of pearlized lace pedals.
Honor attendants were Mr. and Mrs. James De La Fuente.
Bridesmaids were misses Jeannie Pope, Dixie Andler, Sylvia Jaramillo, and Dora Aragon. Ushers were Michael Chavez, Isidro Chavez and Joe Lucero.
After a trip to Gallup the couple is at home at 1217 12th NW. Andler is serving in the U. S. Army.
