"Loved by all who met her" Pearl was killed on 9th South in Salt Lake City near 1400 West while riding on a horse drawn sleigh. She was struck by a train at age 16. She was the only one killed in the sleigh. The horses spooked when the train came close as the driver apparently did not see the train coming. The sleigh was hit at the spot where Pearl was sitting, she was killed almost instantly. The horses had to be destroyed, all other occupants of the sleigh recovered from their wounds. She is the daughter of William Francis Qualls and Kate Addison Qualls. Sister to Thomas Tipton Qualls, Merde Lee Qualls, and Ruby Qualls Barron.
