Mrs. Garrison was a teacher in the Davis Public Schools for 43 years, retiring in 1968. She taught at least two generations in many families, teaching both me and my dad in the first grade. She was a music lover and a Sunday School teacher. Although she and Jack had no children of their own, when we students would ask her if she had children, she'd answer "Yes, you are all my children."

Surprise Marriage
Davis friends were given a complete surprise this week by receipt of the following announcement:
"Mr. and Mrs. John Greer McCray of Hutchinson, Kansas, announce the marriage of their daughter Grace Wilbur to Mr. Arthur Jack Garrison, on Sunday, July the eighth, nineteen hundred twenty-eight, Norman, Oklahoma. At home after September first, Davis, Oklahom."
The ceremony was performed by Rev. Warren, Christian pastor at Norman. The bride returned to Teachers College at Ada and the groom came back to Davis and kept mum about the marriage. At the close of school term, the couple made a trip to the bride's home in Kansas, where the bride remained until last Monday when the groom brought her to Davis where they will reside.
The bride is not stranger here, having taught in the Davis school four years ago and at Wynnewood the past three years. She is a member of the Davis faculty for the coming term. She is an attractive young lady with a winning personality. Her brother, Rev. Chas. McCray, formerly was pastor of the Christian church here.
The groom, a son of Mrs. Lula Garrison, was reared and educated here, and is a popular young business man. He is connected with the Herbert Garrison store.
