Archibald is my great-great-great-great grandfather who served as a soldier in the War of 1812 in the Carteret Country Regiment (ROBERTS'), NORTH CAROLINA MILITIA.
Rank - Induction: PRIVATE. He was the son of Thomas Anson Lewis was born between 1740-1745 in Chowan Co., NC and died circa 1815 in Shackleford Banks, Carteret Co., NC. He married Deborah Bonner c.1770 she died after 1810 in Shackleford Banks, Carteret Co., NC. His siblings were Thomas Lewis 3/26/1772 to 1825 married Lydia Sydney Styron on 5/18/1793 (his wife's sister); Esther Lewis 1772-1779 and married George Willis; Daniel Lewis 1772-1884 and married Mary Davis in 1800; Uriah Lewis 1774 to 1850 and married Elizabeth Clarissa Davis on 4/21/1809; Mary Lewis 1774-1789 and married James Wade on 3/19/1804; John Lewis born 1784; James Lewis born 1785 and married on 5/30/1810 to Hannah Fulshire then married a second time to Margarette in 1850; Deborah Lewis born 1790 and married John Jackson Fulcher on 1/3/1813; Isaac Lewis born 1796 and died between 1851-1858 and married for the first time to Abigail Davis on 12/20/1820 then to her sister (after she passed away) Sarah Davis on 6/6/1823.

Archibald married Rhoda Styron on 8/23/1799. Their children were Louisa Lewis 1802-1866 married in 1821 to Caleb Mason; Nancy Lewis born in 1810 and who married 3/31/1834 Robert N. Styron; Sarah H. Lewis born in 1805 and who died in 1903 and who married 2/6/1834 James N. Salter; Wallace W. Lewis 1812-1900 married to Sidney A. Willis on Aug 1, 1837; Isaac Wallace Lewis (my great great great grandfather) 1813-1895 who married 1st-10/1/1838 to Sydney A. Lockhart until her death and then 2nd in 1868 Julia A. West; Marcus Antonio Lewis who was born 1815 and married 12/20/1839 Sarah Salter; Martin Lewis who was born in 1818 and married 5/13/1841 Anna Stanton Harris. They are listed on the census as fishermen of Carteret County.
