Lyle Jonas Abrams, 70, of Crookston, Minnesota, Died Monday, April 4, 2005 in the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease.

Lyle was born on April 28, 1934 in a rural home in Vineland Township, the son of Ivan and Lillian Stevenson Abrams. He attended county school in Hammond Township and later at the Eldred School. Lyle always had a love for farming and started working on a farm fro Nick DeBoer and later went into farming on his own. On July 3, 1953, he was united in marriage to Annette Westrem at the Climax Lutheran Church in Climax, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Crookston before moving to their farm in rural Crookston. Lyle loved working the land and teaching all the he knew to the children and grandchildren. he loved spending time with family and really enjoyed teaching his grandkids to drive so that they could take him out and about. Lyle was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. He served as director of the Eldred Farmers Elevator board and the beltrami Cenex board. he also served on the Hammond Township board for many years. Lyle will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Loving family members include his wife, Annette; a son and daughter in law, Gary and Jackie Abrams of Crookston, Minnesota; a daughter and son in law, Karen and Merlin Sondrol of Battle Lake, Minnesota; five sisters and four brothers in law, An and Wes Wesenberg of Rockford, IL, Janis Lowry of Spring Lake Park, MN, Sherlyn and Calvin Kolstad of Erskine, MN, Ivadelle and Tom Story of Loves Park, IL, and Pam and Larry Monson of Crookston; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister Joan Petterson.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 9, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Ramey officiating. Interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston, Minnesota.
