Lillian Abrams, 81, of Crookston, died lat Thursday afternoon, December 17, 1992 at the Riverview Nursing Home in Crookston.
The funeral service will be Monday, December 21, at 10:30 a.m. in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Crookston. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Stenshoel Funeral Home and at the church and hour before the funeral. Interment will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston.
She was born in Merrill, Wisconsin, on November 13, 1911, the daughter of Andrew and Emma (Bergmann) Stevenson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She moved with her family to rural Crookston when she was 13.
On November 25, 1928, she married Ivan J. Abrams at Crookston. They farmed in Hammond and Vineland Townships of Polk County, near Crookston, for several years. She also worked as a cook at several Crookston's cafes. In 1958, after working at the Rugness Cafe in Climax for several years, they purchased the business, renaming it Lil's Cafe.
They moved to Climax at that time and she remained in Climax until moving to Crookston in December of 1979. He died on December 15, 1970.
She is survived by a son, Lyle Abrams of Crookston; five daughters, Anna Lucille (Mrs. Wes) Wesenberg of Poplar Grove, Ill., Janis Lowry of Fridley, Sherilyn (Mrs. Calvin) Kolstad of Erskine, Ivadell (Mrs. Tom) Story of Loves Park, Ill., and Pam Damon of Crookston; 22 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan; a daughter, Joan Patterson, who died December 9, 1992; a grandson, Chad Kolstad, who died on October 19, 1985; two sons-in-law; her parents; three brothers, Elmer, Alfred, and an infant brother; and four sisters, Regina, Inga, Minnie and Bertha.
