Wife of William Newby b. 4/29/1825, Carthage, TN. Wounded Battle of Shiloh April 6, 1862. Probably died in 1890's in White Co., Il. He may be the William Newby buried in the White Co Poor Farm Cemetery. A memorial marker for William Newby was placed at the foot of Fereby's grave on 3 May 2012.

Fereby was returning home to Illinois from a trip to Texas and stopped in Stoddard County, Mo, to visit here daughter-in-law, Margaret Malinda Goodrich Newby (husband was Marion Francis Newby--deceased)and grandchildren when she died. Body returned to Illinois for burial.

William and Fereby were married 25 October 1849 in White Co. Il.

Parents: William Eddy Files (b 1784 in South Carolina and died in 1856. Married Dorthy Jones (born 1793 in South Carolina, died 1860). William and Dorothy were married October 30 1811 in Warren Co. Ky.

William Eddy Files' father was John Files who fought in Revolutionary War and is buried in Liberty Cemetery, Burnt Prairie, White Co., Illinois.
