OGDEN – Annabelle Bench Loosli passed away at McKay-Dee Hospital April 3, 2010, surrounded by her family.
She was born January 16, 1927, in Benson Ward, Utah, a daughter of George Thomas Bench and Blanche Adelia Ricks. She enjoyed school, and learned to tap dance and to play the clarinet. She thinned more than her share of beets while growing up. She learned to mend nylon hose and opened her own business in the Logan J.C. Penney store. She also learned the lost art of reweaving, which she did for many years. She was an excellent seamstress.
Annabelle married her sweetheart, Ernest Vincent (Vince) Loosli, September 15, 1950. They and their two children were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple on September 15, 1970.
Annabelle always had to have her lipstick on. She loved jewelry, shopping, eating out especially dessert, traveling, and spending time with her family. In her later years, her purse was full of candy bars and licorice candy. She would never turn down ice cream, candy or pie, or anything sweet for that matter. After retirement, she and Vince began genealogy work, and spent many hours researching their family lines and doing temple work, which was such a special experience to them. She loved to golf and bowl, and she had the honor of naming the Eagle Mountain golf course in Brigham City.
After Vince's death in 2007, Annabelle moved to Mt. Ridge Assisted Living. There she made many dear friends and rarely missed any of their many activities. She was always on the go. She loved her time at Mt. Ridge, and her friends and the staff there were a special part of her life and she loved them so. They became her second family.
Annabelle is survived by her children, Ladell (Kristie) Loosli, and Michelle (Scott) Horspool, grandchildren, Brian (Stacey) Loosli, Jeffrey (Jessica) Loosli, Jamie (Keith) Hendricks, Tami (Dustin) Wade, Mardi Loosli, Kurt Horspool, Laci Gorder, and Lindsay (Brady) Nicholls, great-grandchildren, Preston and Gracie Loosli, Brycen and Parker Hendricks, Emma Wade, Dawson and Ashton Nicholls, and Kolby and Kambree Gorder, with two "on the way." Annabelle is survived by two brothers, Delray and Jerry Bench. Annabelle was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers.
Annabelle's family would like to thank the Skyline Care Center Branch and the staff at Mt. Ridge Assisted Living for the love and care they gave to Annabelle.
