Rev. Luther L. Riley Dies Here Thursday
The Rev. Luther Lee Riley, 65, died Thursday at his home here. He was a former pastor of the Russellville Assembly of God church and was honorary president of the Arkansas District Council, Assembly of God churches. A minister for the past 40 years, Rev. Riley had also served as pastor of the churches at Havana, Paris, Fort Smith, Hot Springs, Harrison, North Little Rock and Little Rock. He was a native of Logan county.
He is survived by his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Carl Branch of Russellville, Mrs. W. V. Strickland of Texas and Miss Vera Riley, pastor of the Assembly of God church at Charleston; a son Eugene Riley of Russellville; a brother, Cecil Riley of Charleston; two sisters, Mrs. Berry Lowder of Fort Smith and Mrs. Vean Gideon of Oklahoma; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 in the Russellville Assembly of God church. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery by the Gardner Funeral Service.
