Roger Dale Mullins, age 50, Church Hill, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003.
He was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. He was a 1971 graduate of Church Hill High School and was employed by AFG (Greenland Plant). He loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell Mullins and Georgia Vesta Smith Mullins; a brother, J.W. Mullins; and father-in-law, Onnie Hale.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kathy Hale Mullins of the home; a son, Jason Mullins of the home; step-sons, Greg Wright, Knoxville, and Brian Wright and wife Tiffanie, Atlanta, GA; his "second mother," Nell Hale, Mount Carmel; sisters, Shelby Hickman, Church Hill, and Ruth Larkin, Hamilton, OH; brothers, David Mullins and wife Vivian, Church Hill, Jeff Mullins and wife Carol, Kingsport; three children who had a special place in his heart; Barbara Hale, Jasper Hale and Cody Vickers; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, in the Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill, with Revs. Brian Wright and James Adams officiating. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at Church Hill Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers were David Mullins, Jeff Mullins, Timothy Mullins, Anthony Mullins, Greg Vickers, Rick Larkin, Avery Larkin and Russell Thacker.
