Birth: Nov. 13, 1809

Virginia, USA
Death: Mar. 15, 1866

Samuel Scott Boss was born in Loudoun Co, Virginia to Jacob Boss. He mother is unknown.

He married Elizabeth Candle on Apr 3, 1845, in Huntsville, Montgomery Co, Texas (now Walker Co, Tx). They had 7 children.

He was in the Mexican War (for which his wife Elizabeth received a pension), and the Civil War for the confederacy, even though he was 51 years old. He was a prisoner of war near Vicksburg, and was paroled on Jul 2, 1862 after given his Parole of Honor statement.

Samuel is most likely buried in an unmarked grave in the old section of the Sulphur Springs City Cemetery. A number of family, including myself have walked the cemetery, and there is no gravestone for him. There is, however, an old section of the cemetery that is fenced off, but there doesn't appear to be any way into it except jumping the fence.

The current caretakers don't seem to have any records for that area of the cemetery. Additionally, they wrote to me that City Cemetery Society cleaned up the old section during the depression and destroyed many of the old wooden markers that were there.
