Fred W. Irwin, 84, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, in Arlington.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Moore Funeral Home Chapel, Arlington. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 6 t0 8 p.m. Wednesday funeral home.
Fred Irwin was born April 15, 1919, in Denison. He was a retired U. S. Marine Corp Sergeant major and a nursing home administrator. He had live in Arlington since 1973.
Fred was a 50-year member of Denison Masonic Lodge and a 32nd-degree mason. During World War II he served aboard the USS Yorktown in the Pacific and served in Korea. He received a Purple Heart and many othr commendations.
Survivors: Loving wife of 62 years, Sammye Irwin; sons, Charles Irwin and wife Peggy, of San Antonio and Walter Jo Irwin and wife, Sigrid, of Germany and had numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends he had so greatly touched with his loving smile.
