Solomon P "Saul" Brewer was the son of Henry Brewer born abt 1803 North Carolina and Elizabeth Unknown born abt 1803 Tennessee. (Mary Elizabeth Eves?)
The 1850 census Tenn. shows Sauls parents Henry and Elizabeth and his siblings Sarah, Henry, Malitia and Dicus.
Per Nathaniel Brewer the Solomon P. Brewer buried in the Garfield cemetery is his father, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Brewer. Nathaniel was interviewed by B Williams in regard to the family hx some years ago.

Solomon or "Sol" first married Mary Jane Storms in 1858-60 in Oregon co. Mo. Three sons were born to this union. Henry "Bud" Brewer, Jacob Brewer, and William Brewer.

After the death of Mary Jane, Saul then married Virginia Bennett in 1876 and had two daughters Mary and Annette.

After the death of Virginia, Saul then married Lucinda Taylor in 1881 and had four more children, Maggie, John, Nancy, and Nathaniel.

Solomon homesteaded land not far from this cemetery and was raising his family with Lucinda. I am not sure of their date of death, but they both died close together about 1898 -1900, leaving four young children. Jacob the older son of Saul and Mary Jane took custody of the children and ran the farm for awhile. The 1900 census shows Nancy age 13 is living with Jacob and wife Minnie.

The 1880 census shows Saul and wife Virginia and is the last definite record I have of him. The 1990 census will never be available because of fire, and they were dead by 1900. So those last four children were never on a census with him.
I have marriage records for the three wives.

Saul served in the Civil War - 4th Reg't Infantry Co. I. Fristoes unit.
