Hattie, the third and last child of Henry and Louisa (Driskell) Bell, was born November 25, 1893, in Gainesville, Ozark Co, MO. She married Ramath "Ray" Alford McCleary in Douglas Co, MO on March 31, 1912 (date provided by Tracey McCleary on March 20, 2011).
Their children were: Ray, Claude, Lowell, Veria "Sis," and Earla "Dude."
There are reports that Hattie was good natured and never said anything bad about anyone. She became crippled from rheumatism, much like her mother, and was finally confined to a wheelchair. Ramoth left her when she became crippled, and their son Lowell, and his wife, Mary, moved in with her, stayed, and took care of her until she died.
She was being treated by Dr. R.C. Thomas when she died on June 3, 1955, in Ava, Douglas Co, MO. She was 61 years old, and was divorced from Ramoth.
In the summer of 2007 her descendants put in a new headstone.
From my book, "The Family of James and Caroline Bell." James & Caroline were her grandparents.
