James Frank Delli, 73, of Carlisle, passed away Friday, Mar. 5, 2010, in the Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital.
He was born Apr. 12, 1936, in Cicero, Ill., son of the late Arturo and Genevieve (Jablonski) Delli.
Jim retired from the mail room at the PA DEP. Jim and his wife of 50 years, Charlene, met and married while serving in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a Catholic, loved the outdoors, fishing on the Susquehanna River, watching his grandchildren grow up, and the Chicago sports teams. He loved to garden and grow orchids.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene M. (Garlinger) Delli; son, Michael J. Delli, wife, Susan, of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren, Samantha A. Ward, her husband, Matthew, Jordan N., Brandon J., and Maddison T. Delli; great-grandson, Aaron Ward; three brothers, William, Robert and David; sister, Rennie; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Dizzy.
Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and will be sadly missed by all.
A visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, Mar. 9, 2010, followed by the memorial service at 6:00 p.m. in St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 4200 Market St., Camp Hill. Burial will be held at a later date in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Castaway Critters, P.O. Box 1421, Harrisburg, PA 17105.
