Beulah F. (Ogilvie) Boston is the daughter of James Ogilvie and Camilla (Robeson) Ogilvie and was born near Carthage, Illinois. She married Charles Gaylord "Gay" Boston, son of Charles Walker Boston and Mary Rowena (Yetter) Boston on April 29, 1911, in Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa.
An article in the Carthage Republican, Carthage, Illinois, on May 10, 1911, described their marriage this way. "Mr. Gay Boston and Miss Beulah Ogilvie stole a march on their many friends by slipping away to Burlington, Iowa, on Saturday April 29, and getting married. Their wedding was a complete surprise to everyone, not even the parents of either, knew of their intentions. Gay is a good and industrious boy and well worthy of the handsome and accomplished girl he has won for his bride. On Thursday evening last, a crowd of young people went to the home of the groom and gave them an old fashioned charivari, with guns and cow bells: then they were all invited into the house and treated to a bushel of pop corn and a box of cigars. The whole community join in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Boston a long, happy and prosperous life, especially Corntassell."
Gay and Beulah farmed near Carthage until 1947 when they moved to California due to Gay's poor health. Once his health improved, they returned to Carthage. Beulah was a member of Carthage Presbyterian Church, the Meet Your Neighbor Club and the Jolly Neighbors Club.
Gay and Beulah were the parents of two children: Charles Wayne and Ruth E. (Hardesty) Boston.
Beulah died at the age of 98 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Adams County, Illinois.
