Parley Clifton Honiter is the son of Charles Addison Honiter and Mary Salina (Collins) Honiter. He spent his entire life in the Brock community in Union Township, Scotland County, Missouri, working on the land purchased from the U.S. government by his grandfather Silas Collins. He remained unmarried and assisted his widowed sister Zilla Hyde in raising her daughter Mary. He loved draft horses and resisted modern machinery, farming with his horses until his death. He was very inventive and devised a number of helpful contraptions for use on his farm.

P.C. Honiter Services Held at Brock Thursday
Parley Clifton Honiter, only son of Charles and Mary Honiter, was born September 22, 1884, on a farm near Memphis. He resided in the same home ntil his death July 30, 1963. Parley was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Zilla Hyde and Beulah Smith. He and his widowed sister, Zilla, lived together on the original farm, purchased from the government by their grandfather, Silas Collins. Parley was loved by his family and esteemed highly by his neighbors and friends. He is surved by three nieces, Mary McDaniel, Nellie Hyde, and Eva Morgan, and their families - 16 great nieces and nephews and 18 great great nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held from the Brock Methodist church August 1st at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. rederick Lawson. Burial was in the Brock cemetery. Body bearers were Franklin Reed, Clare Morgan, Victor Patten, Buford Bull, James Morris and Chan Bull.
