Charles was the sixth child born to David and Katie Dean. He became a wagon maker and settled in Grand Rapids in the 1850's.

NOTE: No headstone present.
Death certificates say that Charles and his wife were buried at Martin Cemtery in Grand Rapids. Cemetery records there indicate that there are 8 Dean graves and two of those are unmarked within the Dean family plot, these two unmarked graves likely belong to Charles and Arvilla.
