The Stafford Courier printed a death notice for Martha Burger on July 9, 1953. It reads as follows:
MARTHA BURGER DIED JULY 4
Martha Burger died in Hutchinson on the morning of July 4, at 6:45 a. m. She is the former Martha Wilson and has lived in Stafford and Macksville. She was born March 2, 1869.
Two brothers, Samuel Wilson, Lincoln Neb., and Eli Wilson of Ottawa, and a twin sister, Mrs. Mary Hicks of Hutchinson are among her surviving relatives.
Funeral services will be held at ten o'clock Saturday morning, July 11, at the Peacock and Soice chapel with interment in the Stafford cemetery.
