Katie Hanselman was the daughter of Johann Frederick Hanselmann and Katherine Barbara Klenk. She was one of twelve children born very near to Saint Morgan Illinois on the family farm. She moved to Halstead Kansas to marry John V Berger who previously moved to Kansas from (possibly) Trenton Illinois. They married in Kansas and owned a wheat farm there. From their union came three sons:
Louis........b: abt 1907-d: 1928 automobile accident
Marlin.......b: Nov 30, 1911
Harold.......b: July 8, 1913....d: Apr. 1981
All born in Kansas.
Katie comes from a very fine family of Hanselmanns. Some of the children dropped one "N" in the spelling of the name (ex: Hanselman).
