William David Atkins, 73, died at his residence in Charlottesville on Wednesday, November 17, 2010.

He was the son of the late William Robert Atkins and Jean M. Atkins.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Atkins; and two sons, David Todd Atkins and his wife, Kara, of Manassas, Virginia, and Paul Robert Atkins and his wife, Jolie, of Stafford, Virginia; two grandchildren, Chad Thomas Atkins and Joshua Reese Atkins, both of Stafford, Virginia; one sister, Sara J. Bayley and her husband, Dwight, of Florida.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to The Legacy Hospice, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 180, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

A memorial service was held at the Crozet Baptist Church Saturday, November 20, 2010, with the Reverend David Collyer and Colleen Swingle-Titus officiating.
