He was a retired carpenter, a veteran of the US Navy having served during World War II, and was of the Baptist faith.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing the guitar.
Survivors include six sons, Dickey Drake of Newark, Mickey Drake of Concord, Rickey Drake of Sulphur Rock, Vickey Drake of Desha, Nickey Drake and David Drake both of Pangburn; two sisters, Angele Boutwell of Locust Grove and Adgede Gay of Desha; sixteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Patsy Jo Ballard and Mary Lou Drake and one daughter, Janette Rogers.
Graveside services are Friday, September 7, 10:00 a.m., at the Locust Grove Cemetery with Randy Altom officiating.
Visitation is Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m.
