Glenn Bond, 77, passed away on August 13, 2009 in his home in Redding, CA, surrounded by his loving family.
Glenn is survived by Doris, his wife of 51 years; his older brother, David; daughter, Jennifer; sons Alan and Curtis; granddaughters Cierra, Kelsey, Elsa, and Helena; grandson, Harrison; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, outlaws, extended family members and friends.
Glenn was born July 10, 1932, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Following high school, he spent four years in the Air Force, where he received training in electronics, leading to a life long career in computers and data management. Glenn and his family moved to Redding in 1975 where he became Shasta County's first data processing manager. Glenn eventually started his own computer company, from which he retired in 1996. Glenn was a lover of books and history, tinkering, wood-working, cars, comedies and crossword puzzles.
His mind was always busy working on how to make things better, as evidenced by the many "improvements" around the family home. Glenn was a member of the Redding Religious Society of Friends, and was a passionate advocate of their many efforts at promoting peace and justice in the world.
A memorial meeting in the manner of Friends will be held at the Whiskeytown Cemetery on August 29th at 10 a.m.
