Russell L. Deere, 51, of Marshalltown died at 2:18 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, at Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
Born March 13, 1956, in Keokuk, he was the son of Ardath L. and Margaret L. Evans Deere. On Nov. 7, 1987, he married Ellen Manley in Kansas City, Mo. They divorced in 1996.
Mr. Deere was a veteran of the Air Force and a 1974 graduate of Harmony High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Farmington. He enjoyed bluegrass music and playing guitar.
Survivors include three daughters, Lauren Deere, Lucy Deere and Chelsea Deere, all of Kansas City, Mo; his mother, of Farmington; one brother, Michael L. Deere of Fort Madison; one sister, Patricia L. Wooten of Lakewood, Colo.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
The funeral for Mr. Deere will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Philip Schmidt officiating. Burial with full military rites by the Farmington American Legion will be at Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington.
