Municipal Hosp. in Arlington, Minn.
Funeral was held at Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone, with Dr. Herbert Foxworthy officiating. Burial was in the Mineral Ridge Cemetery in Ridgeport, Iowa.
She was born Oct 6, 1929 in Stuart, Iowa to Thomas and Emma (Grett) Smith. In August, 1948, she married Pete Gilliam in Trenton, Mo. In June 1967, she married John Reed in Grundy Center Ia.
In addition to living in Boone and Ridgeport area, she also lived in Calif.: Wyoming: Morrison: Rapid City So. Dak. and she moved to Gibbon in 1994. In earlier years, she was a waitness at the Holst Hotel in Boone. She was also a waitness in Calif. and So. Dak.
Later, she was a nurse's aide and also provided home care for the elderly. She retired in 1989.
She was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law. Mark Reed of Gibbon, MN, Steven & Johanna Gilliam of Zirndors, Germany and Craig Reed of Pipestone, MN; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl & Bill Stoll of Fairfax, MN; two brothers, Charles Ellsworth Smith of Boone and Tommy Smith of Ankeny; two sisters, Yvonne Grimm of Sylmar, Calif. and Sandra Davenport of Jefferson; and seven grandchildren
