Franklin Parker
Birth: Nov. 8, 1900
Death: Jun. 12, 1962

Actor. Also known as Franklyn Parker. A native of Fillmore, Missouri, Parker began his career as an actor by appearing in vaudeville and in numerous Broadway shows billed as "Pinky." He was also a talented singer. In 1931, he entered films and would go onto play numerous roles including cab drivers, reporters, sailors, telegraph operators, photographers, croupiers, and male stenographers. His acting career lasted 22 years and spanned over 107 films. His many credits include, "Millie" (1931), "A Holy Terror" (1931), "Union Depot" (1932), "The Honor Of The Press" (1932), "The All-American" (1932), "I've Got Your Number" (1934), "Operator 13" (1934), "Night Club Scandal" (1938), "Young Dr. Kildare" (1938), "Cipher Bureau" (1938), "Invitation To Happiness"(1939), "The Man Who Wouldn't Talk" (1940), "The Impostor" (1944), "Captain Eddie" (1945), "They Were Expendable" (1945), "The Mysterious Mr. M" (1946), "On An Island With You" (1948), "Abandoned" (1949), "Cactus Caravan" (1950), "Abbott And Costello Meet The Invisible Man" (1951), "The Narrow Margin" (1952). His last role was that of a reporter in an episode of the television series, "Mr & Mrs. North" in 1953. He retired from acting shortly thereafter. He died from a heart attack in Hollywood in 1962. His cremated remains are inurned at the Chapel of the Pines. (bio by: K)
