Becky (DeCapua) Tokar, 109 Vine Ave., Hempfield Township, died Sunday morning, Dec. 4, 2005, in her home with her family at her side, after a 14-month illness. She was 58.
Mrs. Tokar was born Sept.21, 1947, in Sharon to the late Sam and Cleo Nevant DeCapua. She was a graduate of Hickory High School in Hermitage and received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Slippery Rock University. She was employed as an elementary teacher for five years in Reynolds School District and as a substitute
teacher at St. Michael School in Greenville. She was also
secretary-treasurer for South Shenango Township for 30
years. She was a member of St. Michael's Church, Greenville, where she served actively as chairperson for the annual bazaar fund-raiser.
Becky's interests included gardening and she was a member of the Herb Thymers group, as well as arts and crafts and supporting her children's educational and athletic endeavors.
She will be remembered as a very devoted wife, mother and as a friend to many.
Surviving are: her husband, Jim Tokar, whom she married
June 13, 1970, at home; a daughter, Amy Speigel and her husband, Kyle, Zelienople; two sons, Ben Tokar and his
wife, Janine, Cumberland, Md.; and Brian Tokar,Greenville; a brother, Jim De-Capua and his wife, Bonnie, Hermitage; a sister, Mary Ann McCune, Hermitage; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Her parents preceded her in death.
The family requests that memorial donations be made in lieu of flowers to the Becky DeCapua Tokar Scholarship
