Edward John Failing, the son of the late Jason and Magdalene Stoher Failing, was born June 30, 1919 in Ottawa, Illinois. He entered into eternal rest January 17, 2009 at the age of eighty-nine years.
On February 14, 1942 he was married at Joliet, Illinois to Imogene Fraser who preceded him in death on April 28, 2003. Mr Failing was a vertean having served with the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. Before his retirement, he was a truck driver for the Illinois Seven Up Bottling Company for forty-one years and after moving to the Udall area, he was involved in cattle farming. Mr. Failing was member of the American Legion Post #374, Bakersfield, Missouri. He enjoyed woodworking, whittling and loved to travel. Mr Failing was a member of the 101 Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Lee Failing and wife Barbara and Ronald Failing and wife, Patti. Two grandchildren, Sarah Belcher and Rhonda Renfrow; one sister, Dorothy Herman; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, wife, and one brother, Jason Failing, precede him in death.
