Bento was born Sept. 10, 1933, in San Antonio, the son of Q. Bento and Andrea Bustos Bento. He grew up in Bandera and graduated from high school in 1952.
Following service in the United States Marine Corps, Bento settled in Racine, Wisc. to raise his family.
He was a well-known restaurateur, credited with introducing fine Mexican cuisine to the Racine area.
For some time, he managed a tennis club in Racine and later assisted at Baron's Creek Tennis Club in Fredericksburg."
