Nancy W. Dell, 78, of Wilson Street, Carlisle, formerly of Old Waynesburg Road, Carmichaels, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005, in her home surrounded by family.

Born February 14, 1927, in Mt. Union, she was a daughter of Victor L. and Helen Ewing Wallatt and the widow of Joseph E. Dell Sr.

She was a 1945 graduate of Mt. Union High School, Mt. Union. She went on to graduate from the College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio, in 1949. She also studied at Juilliard School of Music in New York.

She was a church organist and also a piano teacher. She was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church, Carlisle, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, AARP and American Guild of Organists.

Surviving are two sons, Joseph E. Dell Jr. of Indiana and Dr. David A. Dell of Boiling Springs; a daughter, Mary Kemnec of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a brother, Victor L. Wallett of Sun City, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 23, in First Presbyterian Church, Fellowship Hall, 2A North Hanover Street, Carlisle, with the Rev. Jon A. Black officiating. The family will be receiving friends immediately following the service in the church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Bowmans Chapel Cemetery, Huntingdon County. Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover Street, Carlisle, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
