Floyd Blaine Handsor, Jr. was born in Detroit, MI on November 1, 1941 to the late Floyd B. Handsor, Sr. and the late Gertrude E. Richardson Smith. He is also predeceased by a brother, Gary Smith.
Floyd attended Detroit Public Schools and graduated from Northwestern High School in Detroit, MI.
After his tour in the U.S. Army, where he received a purple heart medal and a bronze star, he continued to work for the government and retired from Civil Service.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 37 years, Betty Handsor of Columbus, GA; a daughter, Donnetta Handsor of Atlanta, GA; step-father, Walter Smith of Detroit, MI; a brother, Mark Smith of Detroit, MI; sisters, Silvia Thomas of Heath Springs, SC, Diane Lewis of Woodbridge, VA and Faith Clarke of Brea, CA; nieces and nephews, Charisse Ferrebee, Gary Lewis, Brian Lewis, Brandon Clarke and Rachel Clarke; a host of other relatives and friends.
