OBITUARIES
Bert J. Hommel, 70, a lifelong Stan-
fordville resident, died Sunday, April
10, at Northern Dutchess Hospital,
Rhinebeck, after a short illness.
Mr. Hommel had been a diesel
mechanic for E.F.C.L. Products of
Poughkeepsie for 15 years, retiring in
1980.
He served in the U.S. Army during
World War II.
He was a member of Immaculate
Conception Roman Catholic Church,
Stanfordville.
He was born April 28, 1917, in New
Paltz to Bert D. and Elizabeth Dunne
Hommel.
He attended Poughkeepsie schools.
On Feb. 25, 1944. in Poughkeepsie,
he married Helen J. Traudt, who sur-
vives.
Other survivors include a son, Bert
C. Hommel of Millbrook; a sister.
Marguerite Hommel of Poughkeep-
sie; two grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were made by the
Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral
Home, 16 Grand Ave., Poughkeepsie.
Entombment was in the communi-
ty mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural
Cemetery.
