She was the daughter of the late Leach Snap and Virginia Belle Mercer McCormick. She was a graduate of Orangeburg City Schools and received a two year business degree from Winthrop College. On February 27, 1938 she married James Charles Pace. She was retired from the South Carolina State Employment Services with 25 years of service in Clinton and Orangeburg. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, the Annie McLee's Sunday School Class, Circle #2 and attended Bible study each week. She supported many mission trips and projects of the church and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Audrey (Dree) Pace, and husband of nearly 70 years, Capt. James Charles "J. C." Pace (retired from the S. C. Highway Patrol). She was also predeceased by three brothers, Richard McCormick, Leslie McCormick and L. S. McCormick, Jr. Survivors include sisters-in-law Omega P. Clinge, Ruth McCormick and Dink McCormick, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held March 18, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jud Jordan officiating. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Annie McLee's Sunday School Class.
