John Byrd , along with Beverly Basil Owens, served with Captain Benjamin Cherry's
Regiment, Lauderdale's Battalion, Tennessee Mounted
Infantry, Cherokee War (Spies). They were mustered in
at Ross landing 31 Oct. 1837 for six months.Received pension.

We find no marker for John Brannan, although we suspect his plot is between those of his wife,Permillia , and son "B.B.". There is a generic, cylindrical piece of concrete marking a grave at that spot.
